Official Statement of the City Government of San Jose del Monte, Bulacan On PrimeWater’s Latest Petition Before RTC Las Piñas

8 June 2026 – The City Government of San Jose del Monte has received the decision issued by the Regional Trial Court of Las Piñas in relation to PrimeWater Infrastructure Corp.’s latest petition seeking injunctive relief against the City Government’s efforts to resolve the continuing water crisis in the city.

This is already the third time PrimeWater has attempted to stop the City Government from providing solutions to San Jose del Monte’s water distribution problems. Its first two petitions before the Regional Trial Courts of Bulacan and Las Piñas were dismissed, with the courts recognizing that the public injury caused by the continuing water problem carries greater weight than PrimeWater’s contractual claims under its joint venture agreement.

Instead of working with the City Government to respond to the long-standing complaints of San Joseños, PrimeWater has chosen to pursue repeated legal actions to block urgent measures for the public.

However, we assure San Joseños that our interim management of local water operations will continue in partnership with Metro Pacific Water, consistent with our duty to protect the public and restore reliable water service.

We will pursue all available legal remedies to defend the validity of our actions, uphold the authority of the local government, and protect the interest of every San Joseño. Our priority remains unchanged: stabilize water services, correct long-standing problems in the system, and ensure that San Joseños receive the safe, reliable, and dependable water service they deserve.
